When I bought my lap top, I made a partition with partition magic, then I installed Linux on it. I didn't have problems. Some months later I formatted my hard disk setting it back to the beginning. When I tried to use partition magic again it wasn't working. At rebooting system, I got this message:
xmnt2002 program not found - skipping autocheck
Solution is here: You have to copy-paste this text in a file named "PM.REG"
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager]
"BootExecute"=hex(7):61,75,74,6f,63,68,65,63,6b,20,61,75,74,6f,63,68,6b,20,2a,\
00,00
Then you have to execute the .reg and Windows register will be modified. Now the message is not appearing anymore. I'm ready to install Ubuntu.
